Abathenjwa is a Charitable Trust with 9 Non-Executive Trustees. Below the umbrella Trust there are purpose
designed NPC’s and PC’s in each of the following focus areas:
Both Lily and iKhethelo Children’s Villages are Abathenjwa Trust Projects caring for about 170 orphaned and vulnerable children. Our goal is to see these children healed, empowered, loved, and equipped within holistic communities.
We oversee and expand the impact of our existing Lily Medical Centre and clinics, we are catalyst in starting, coordinating and networking at grass roots levels unto encouraging community development, and we offer crisis care to families and individuals in need.
We support and offer Training and Skills Development for orphaned and vulnerable children exiting our villages and schools, all staff and management, other NGOs, and the community at large.
We oversee holdings in existing Valley Fresh Farm, the Freedom Oil Project and various other profitable ventures that exist to fund orphan care and commnuity empowerment.
Various Abathenjwa projects cover ECD through to Matric - these include Bonginkosi, Lilyvale, iKhethelo and Hope Valley Schools.
We come alongside to support, facilitate and guide growth, both organizational and human.

Tuli has extensive experience as a facilitator, coach and trainer in both private and public sector organizations. In addition to her career, she has also found time to be a outstanding advocate for human rights and dignity within the community.
Palesa is both a renowned optometrist and successful entrepreneur who has build businesses with vision and a strong belief in giving back. She is also part of the International Centre for Eyecare Education (ICEE) Africa, an international NGO providing eye-care education.
Paul is a Financial Advisor at Citadel Wealth Management, chairman of the Christian Sports & Business Ministry (CSBM), and a director on the “Faith Like Potatoes” board, the Christian film based on Angus Buchan’s book.
With a corporate career spanning over 16 years in the Banking Industry, including management positions at Standard Bank, African Bank, Motor Finance Corporation and Absa, Sbu is now the founder and Managing Director of Kamusa Consulting and the Chief Executive Officer of Imbeleko, Dr. Seni Myeni Foundation.
Nompepho is a veteran social worker and successful business woman whose wisdom and kindness are legendary!
As a minister and bishop Raj has served on boards formultiple ministries, community projects and hospitals in many capacities.
With a thriving practice in Pinetown, Dr. Mlungu has demonstrated his outstanding generosity by providing healthcare pro bono to orphans from various organization within the community.
As a Chartered Accountant, Chairman of Umfolozi Mill Growers Pty Ltd and a director of the Umfolozi Sugar Mill in addition to being Managing Director of the Umhlathuze Velley Sugar Company Ltd. Russel offers tremendous expertise!
As a businessman he has 25 years of experience in the shipping industry. He is a leading member and former President and of Hillcrest Rotary Club through whom he has championed multiple community development projects, including iKhethelo and Lily of the Valley.
Nombuso is the head social worker at iKethelo Children’s Village and as such has both tremendous experience and is honored in the community as a powerful and compassionate leader.
As managing director of iKehthelo Children’s Village, Nic oversees a wide range of projects, initiatives, and services to the KwaNyusya and Embo communities. In addition he is father to 50 orphaned children!
As managing director of Lily of the Valley Brendon expertly oversees the orphanage, clinic, school, and various other community projects that Lily runs.
Known and loved as “Bab’u Thula,” which literally means Father Thula, by 120 orphaned children at Lily of the Valley, Thula is a compassionate and experienced leader bringing vital change within his community.
Siyanda has a rich history working with local NGO’s, empowering grassroots movements, and and leading efforts for change in rural South Africa. As the previous Executive Director of Light Providers and the current Director in of Loving South Africa Siyanda brings crucial wisdom and insight to our board!
